Given the aerating and dressing of the greens during week commencing 7th August, it was decided that the greens would not be ideal to support a normal weekend competition, so a more light hearted approach was taken to the weekend. The 'Greenkeepers Revenge' was based upon a team format on Saturday and a non-qualifying Individual Stableford on Sunday. The greenkeepers chose some very tricky pin positions on some of the holes, with slick greens to match. Most members enjoyed the challenge, and it was interesting to experience the type of 'last day' pin positions that tour professional have to deal with!
Not everyone was beaten by the green keepers though. Chris Sherry got a hole-in-one on the twelfth, with a very tough pin position back right. Well done Chris, a pity it wasn't a qualifying comp (or Captains day!)
